How long does it take to receive records?

  • 3 Business Days for initial response with records or notification of extension for 15 days (from date of submittal).
  • 30 day extension (from date of submittal) can be sent for broad or burdensome requests.

What is an IPRA?

  • A request for “documents, photographs, recordings and other materials, that are used, created, received, maintained or held by or on behalf of any public body and relate to public business…”

What are your fees?

  • $1.00 for single-sided copies, $0.75 for double-sided copies, no charge for copies that are already digitized
  • $5.00 for each 30 min of video & $0.32 for DVD, $3.50 for USB, no charge for emailed video

When did the Sheriff's Office begin recording with Body Worn Cameras?

  • September of 2020

What is the retention schedule for Sheriff's records?

  • Reports: 10 years
  • Video: 180 days (with some exceptions-if changed by deputy)

How long does it take the Sheriff's Office to generate a report after the date of incident?
